It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Sidney Charles Bolton in Little Rock, Arkansas, born in Brooklyn, New York, who passed away on November 11, 2024, at the age of 81, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Marjorie Draper Bolton and Franklyn Paul Bolton. He is survived by: his sister Jill Bolton Middleton; his children, Conevery Bolton Valencius, Jesse Draper Bolton and Lillie Jean Bolton; his children-in-law, Matthew G. Valencius and Angela Anderson; his grandchildren, Ilan Valencius, Casimir Valencius, Zara John Valencius, Marlowe Adeline Bolton and Archer Jace Bolton; his stepson William Thomas Dillard, III; his siblings, Peter Jeffery Bolton and Jill Anne Bolton; and also, Janet Ellis, Susan French Hughes May and Shannan Venable.

In 2024, he received the (COVID 19-delayed) Railway and Locomotive History Association Award for his 2021 Arkansas Historical Quarterly article "Missing the Train.".
