With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Shirley Brovender Barron (Little Rock, Arkansas), born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, who passed away on May 25, 2022 at the age of 96. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her mother Rebecca Pierce Brovender; her husband Dr. Almen L. Barron of Little Rock; and her siblings, Sgt. Observer Jacob L. Brovender (Ontario) of Timmins and Dorothy Brovender Lieff of Ottawa, Ontario.. She is survived by: her son Joshua C. Barron; her grandson Jared J. Barron (Brittany); and her daughter-in-law Tammy Baker.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers or arrangements memorial donations may be made to a charity of choice.

“Sincere condolences to Josh, Jared and your loved ones. Shirley was an amazing person. On rare occasions when we have been in Little Rock we always stopped to see her. The last time we saw her was in 2016 and she always made us feel so welcome. I was very touched when Shirley made two smocked dresses for our daughter when she was little knowing the many hours it would take to make such beautiful dresses. She loved all of you so much!
