He is survived by: his parents, Brian Holland (Michelle) and Wendy Holland (Strom); his friend Jacqui; his siblings, Emily Holland (Darian Goulding), Christopher Holland (Alison), Jennifer Holland-Haigh (Ryan), Nicholas, Nathan Kapp, Jenna Hartman (Dave), Lauren Dowd and Brett Stuckel (Nicole); his niece Alexandra Holland; his nephew Thomas Holland; his grandmother Karen Kapp; his aunts and uncles, Sara Miller (Howard), Nancy Solhaug (Martin), Heidi Mercer (William), Rändi Fay (John), Sharon Clasby (Jim) and Lisa Schaut (Kevin); his cousins, Erik Solhaug, Tom Mercer (Madeline), Dave Mercer (Jamie), Melanie Mercer (Mike Thorp), Kristin Joachim (Rick), Kevin Fay (Jake Kroenke), Kyle Fay (Megan), Lindsay Payne, Beth Worley, Dominic Schaut (Macey), Taylor Schaut (Mariah), Andrew Schaut and Annelise Schaut; his girlfriend Jacqueline Hey; and his pets, Aston and Mimi. He is also survived by many second cousins, other relatives and friends.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established by Sam's family to benefit animal rescue and mental health awareness.
