She was predeceased by: her parents, Rev. Aaron Thornton and Louise Wilson Thornton; her siblings, Arie Lee Thornton, Louise McCastle, Mary Hollis and Aaron Thornton Jr.; her husband James Winfrey Delyles Sr.; and her children, Winfrey DeLyles Jr. and Janet Lee DeLyles.

She is survived by: her daughters, Joyce Ann Perkins and Kathleen DeLyles; and her grandchildren, Tonya Grimes, Kimberly DeLyles, Khalisha Kristen Croom-Roberts, Jason Perkins and Karmen Croom. She is also survived by several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
