He was predeceased by: his parents, Myer Kaplan and Marion Kaplan; and his brother Gary. He is survived by: his friend Leslie Singer; his children, Julie and Andrew (Sheryl); and his grandchildren, Alex (Corey), Emily and Matthew.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to either Congregation B'nai Israel or Arkansas Symphony Orchestra.
