He was predeceased by: his parents, Coy Spann and Altha Spann; his son Gary Spann; the mother of his children Virginia Spann; his wife Patricia Spann; and his sister Donna Fimpel.
He is survived by: his children, Brenda Browning (Aaron), Rick Spann (Trudi) and Donald Spann (Cristy); and his sister Edith Blythe. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild, along with a host of extended family and friends.
