She was predeceased by: her parents, LeRoy Williams and Alena Jackson Williams; and her siblings, Dorothy Adams, Geraldine Williams, Earnestine Stewart, Fred Williams, LeRoy Williams Jr., John Williams and Cleveland Williams.
She is survived by: her husband Sam Nelson; her children, Linda Nelson Cogshell, Ruth Nelson, Samuel Nelson, Cleveland Nelson, Esther Burton (Jimmy), Robin Nelson, Gail Worsham (Denormis) and Anthony Nelson (Debra); her brother Herbert Williams (Lelia); and her sisters-in-law, Lottie Williams and Rosetta Williams. She is also survived by twelve grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren, 5 great great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends that were all touched by Maudie's wonderful devotion to her family.
