He was predeceased by: his parents, James Clarence and Ethel Mae Burkett; his former wife Mary Zell Butler Burkett; his brothers, Jerry Jackson Burkett and Vance Weldon Burkett; and his stepdaughter Patricia DuBose.
He is survived by: his wife Charlene Carman Burkett; his siblings, James Carthel Burkett and Jimmie Lee Burkett Burnett; his stepgranddaughters, Mandy DuBose and Angela Hudson; and his friends, Carroll Strickland, Tommy Howard, Fred and Cathy Michael. He is also survived by her children, along with several nieces and nephews.
He asked that memorials be made to First Baptist Church, 62 Pleasant Valley Drive, LR, 72212 or a favorite charity.
