He was predeceased by: his daughters, Margaret Sam and Alma Jean Franklin; and his parents, Johnny Franklin and Dorothy Franklin. He is survived by: his wife Bertha M. Franklin; his children, James L. Franklin, Lloyd Franklin, Sherrie Franklin, Darryl Franklin, Shonia Franklin-Wiley, Jennifer Franklin and Nataile Franklin; his siblings, Lillie Dabney, Jimella Haskins, Doris Jean Lawson and Leon Franklin; and his aunt Alice Valley. He is also survived by other relatives and friends.
