He was predeceased by: his parents, Leroy Horton and Imogene Weaver Meredith; his former wife LaDonna Cole; his daughter Beverly Purvis; and his sister Vickie Gentile.
He is survived by: his sister Ima Jo Crews; his nieces and nephews, Jamie Belcourt, Vickie Crunkleton and Carrie Horton; and his stepdaughter Tissha Meyers. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren, and many great-grandchildren.
