She was predeceased by: her parents, Daisy Ellison and Earsey Greenwood; her siblings, Dorothy McDaniel, Josephine Smith, Johnnie Jones, Buchanan McKinley and Earsey Greenwood Jr.; and her children, Vivian Carter, James Carter (Diane) and Larry Garner.

She is survived by: her children, Claudia Jackson, Joann Carter, Diane Cohns, Barbara Carter, Eddie Miles (Carolyn), Curtis Carter, Charles Carter and Pete Garner; and her siblings, Helen Johnson, Betty Allen and Johnnie Greenwood.
