He is survived by: his wife Sarah Speer (Achor); his children, Margaret Speer (Timothy Davis) and Douglas Carlson Speer Jr. (Lori); his grandchildren, Lyric Speer, Peyton Davis and Brooklyn Davis; and his siblings, Janet Johnston (Joe) and Sam Speer (Phylis).
