He was predeceased by: his father Jack L. Spencer; his stepparents, Rosalyn Spencer and Jack "Coogan" Sample; his mother Betty Sample; and his brother Michael Sample (Stacey).
He is survived by: his wife Marilyn Spencer; his daughters, Michelle Wilson of San Marcos, Kelly Spencer (Western Australia) of Perth, Rebekah Beber (Joe) of Little Rock, Sarah Shera (Cade) of Little Rock and Rachel Golden (Harry) of Roland, Arkansas; his grandchildren, Jonathan Brittain of Amsterdam, Daniel Brittain of Perth, Laura Brittain of Perth, Elisabeth Bryant, Spencer Bryant, AnnMarie Golden, Ruth Shera and Caroline Golden; his great grandchildren, Thomas Brittain and Harry Brittain of Bunbury; his brother Doug Spencer (Debbie); and his nieces and nephews, Mark Spencer (Kristy), Cindy Langston (Jason), Justin Sample, Makayla Sample, Caty Young (Jordan) and Josh Sample.
