He was predeceased by: his parents, Clyde S. Matheny and Lola Jewel Matheny; and his sister Joyce Thompson. He is survived by: his wife Shirley West Matheny; his sons, Greg Matheny (Blanche) and Roger Matheny (Alisa Talley); his grandchildren, Autumn, Alan, Andrew, Austin Matheny and Emily Hoffman; and his brother Melvin Matheny (Linda). He is also survived by eleven great-grandchildren.
