She was predeceased by: her father David Cochran; her husband Judge H. Vann Smith; her brother-in-law Mac Holmes; and her grandparents, Hal, Mildred Cochran, Sherman and Lee Dawson.

She is survived by: her mother Lois Cochran; her sisters, Debbie Holmes and Cindy Werner (Steve); her niece Kim Sturch (Ronnie); her nephews, Jeff Holmes (Patty), Patrick Werner (Bradley) and Phillip Werner (Valerie); her grandchildren, Simon, Henry Mulder, Tyler, Ashley Holmes, Claire, John David Werner and Calvin Werner; and her close friend Sox.
