She was predeceased by: her parents, Rufus J Womble and Lucy L Womble. She is survived by: her children, Melanie Long (Gordon) and Trey Flowers (Wendy); her brother Rocky Womble; and her friend Julie Beth Clements. She is also survived by five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, contributions to the Christ Church Endowment Fund in Carol Lou's memory would be cherished by the family.
