He was predeceased by: his parents, Ed Byers and Luvenia Burgess Byers. He is survived by: his wife Patricia Byers; his sons, Decorian, Jeremy and Marcus; his stepson Kenneth Tubbs; his daughter Amber; and his siblings, Sam, Johnny, Allen and Ora Lee. He is also survived by thirteen grandchildren, one great grandchild and many other relatives and friends.
