He was predeceased by: his parents, James Charles and Marie G. Roberts (McCurdy); and his brothers, Clark Dale Tucker and Billy Don Roberts. He is survived by: his wife Donnette Borchardt Roberts; his son JD Roberts; his brothers, Dwayne Rutland (Susan) and Preston Roberts (Darla); and his sister-in-law Barbara Tucker. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
