He was predeceased by: his parents, Irwin Helms and Ima Loyce Helms; and his great grandchildren, Donald Blain and Robert Reed Jr.. He is survived by: his wife Josephine Helms; his children, Gary Helms (Glenda) of Texarkana, Arkansas. and Donna Lambdin (Jon) of Columbia; his grandchildren, Philip Helms (April) of Bradley, Heather Turner (Curtis) of Benton, Sharon Allen (Greg) of Ashdown, Hillary Whittington of Lexington, Gina Perez (Ray) of Texarkana, Lori Reed (Bobby) of Columbia and Jared Gazzolo (Brittany) of New Boston, Texas.; his brother Pat; and his siblings-in-law, Lindy Powell and Burnice Powell.
