He was predeceased by: his parents, Lawrence Willis and Nellie Victoria Downes (Valentine); and his siblings-in-law, Virginia, Janelle Downes and Jack Stites.

He is survived by: his siblings, David W. Downes of Ward, AR, Grover Downes of Lead Hill, AR, Ace Downes of Harrison, AR and Sylvia Joyce Downes of Stites, KS. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
