He was predeceased by: his parents, Roy Vandiver and Ruth May Pasley Vandiver; his wife Laura Genette "Jenny" Dyer; his children, Roy Vernon Vandiver, Sharon Lee Vandiver and Tammy Lynn White; and his siblings, Vernon Ray Vandiver, Sissy Vandiver and Kathleen Clayton.
He is survived by: his son Robert Lee Vandiver; and his sister Patsy Primm. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
