He was predeceased by: his father Albert D. Sampson; his brother Gary "Rusty" Sampson; and his brothers-in-law, Max Nason and Richard Slate. He is survived by: his children, Kristi and David; his siblings, Linda Nason of Lavaca, Sheila Slate of Lavaca and Rick Sampson (Emily) of Monette, Arkansas; his nieces and nephews, Kayla Dunmire (Jay), Jeremy Sampson, Kevin Nason, Jeff Sampson (Lauren) and RayAnn Wann (Eugene); and his great-nieces and great-nephews, Rusti Nason, Blake Werner, Tray Werner, Tyler Werner, Austin Walchli, Brayden Nason, TJ DuBetz, Luke Sampson, Ally Sampson and Jack Sampson. He is also survived by seven great-great-nieces and nephews.
