He was predeceased by: his father Leonard Neal; and his brothers, Roger James and Mitchell Neal. He is survived by: his wife Ann Neal (Clem); his son Mikel David Neal of Lavaca; his grandchildren, Ryleigh Newhart (Hayden) of Fort Smith and Luke Neal of Lavaca; and his brother Manuel Neal (Virginia) of Charleston.
