He is survived by: his wife Shirley Thrift (Newton); his children, Sharon Akers of Lavaca, Stan Thrift of Lavaca, Troy Thrift of Ozark and Paul Thrift (Katherine) of Alma; his siblings, Elva Cox of Van Buren and Ray Thrift (Sue) of Alma; his grandchildren, Megan, Cody Fox of Garrett Thrift, VJ, Mikaela Akers, Chris Akers, Jordan Akers, Sara, Jim Reid, Ethan Thrift and Zoe Thrift; and his great grandchildren, Casey Fox, Macy Fox, Easton Fox, Cam Fox, Brooklyn Akers, Carson Akers, Emersyn Akers, Madilyn Reid, Clayton Reid and Aiden Akers.
