She was predeceased by: her parents, Selvin Thomas and Jennie Case Thomas; and her husband Jefferson Vangundy. She is survived by: her sons, Jerry Ray Blaylock Jr. (Amy) and Michael Blaylock (Kim); her brother Reverend B. J. Thomas; and her grandchildren, Dr. Joshua Ryan Blaylock (Erin) and Hannah Leigh Lewis (Michael). She is also survived by two great grandchildren.
