She was predeceased by: her son Richard Martin, Jr.; her parents, Wesley Coleman-Spaight and Georgia Coleman-Spaight; and her siblings, Corean Jones, Namie Talliver, Julia Ervin, Lille Alexander, John H. Spaight and Wesley Spaight.

She is survived by: her children, Bernard Martin of Jacksonville, AR, Barbara Dixon, Marva Martin and Mary Evens; her husband James of Lake Village, AR; and her brother Cleveland Spaight of Twentynine Palms, CA. She is also survived by seven grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; and ten great-great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
