He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Lee Mims and Dolly Lee Mims; his siblings, Johny Mims, David Mims, Huey Mims, Woodraw Mims, Robert Mims, Mary Hatrack and Ruby Thomas; and his son John Barber.
He is survived by: his wife Linda Mims; his children, Dewanye Breaux (Karen), Kelly Barber (Marsha), Lisa Mims and Sonya Peacock (Jodie); and his sister Pauline. He is also survived by nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
