He was predeceased by: his wife Helen Eula Banhart; and his siblings, Pat McKay, Sue Levi, John Banhart and Larry Banhart.

He is survived by: his sons, John Banhart (Patricia) of Jonesboro and Robert Banhart (Thea) of Lake City; and his sisters, Judy Scott of Alma and Linda Ballinger of Altus. He is also survived by ten grandchildren, and a host of other family and friends.
