He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Mattie Lou Ellis and Gogga; his wife Lisa Ellis; his sons, Daniel Ellis of New Mexico and James Ellis of Colorado; his stepchildren, Garrett Hogan of Georgia and Holley Hogan of Tennessee; his siblings, Rodney Ellis of Australia and Pam Hull of Hale Center, Texas; his father-in-law Dick Young; and also D'dee Ellis of Texas. He was also cherished by the son he never had, and many special friends, special students, and relatives.
