“Robert's mother, Dorothy, was a lifelong friend of my mother. I remember visiting her after she became paralyzed, seeing her daughter and little red-haired boy and wondering how things would be for them. Robert continued to care for his mother for the rest of her life, and later, her sister. I came to appreciate him even more when I started studying family and community history and noticed how much factual information was given by Robert Whitehead. Amazing that he cared enough to do so much!”
