He was predeceased by: his mother Thelma Davis-Harris; his wife Loretta Easter; his son Eric; his siblings, Houston Johnson Jr., Charles Harris, Emma Nell Malone, Shirley Nelson and Billie Jean Malone; and his nephew Shannon Morris.
He is survived by: his sons, Fredrick Cowser (Diana) and Jeffery Cowser (Shacreshia); his grandchild Demarce Malone; his sisters, Mary Springer of Three Creeks and Sheila Waller (Roland) of El Dorado, AR; and his sister-in-law Jackie Easter (Bobby) of Magnolia, AR.. He is also survived by nine grandchildren, seven Great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
