He was predeceased by: his parents, Leroy Bertrum and Verna Edna Scranton (Buchanan); his former wife Marlene Owings; his sons, Carl and Rodney Scranton; and his siblings, Verdie "Edgar" Scranton, Erma Allison (Russell), Ruth Scranton and Evelyn Scranton.
He is survived by: his wife Trudy Scranton; his children, Randy Scranton (Marcita), Betty Copus (James), Anna Brinker (Cruise) and Jordan Scranton; and his brother Lyndle Scranton. He is also survived by 18 grandchildren, an abundance of great and great-great-grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
