He was predeceased by: his parents, Shirley Carolyn Wilson and Richard Leroy Carter; his brothers, Richard Carter and Phillip Carter; and his grandson Trey Chandler III.
He is survived by: his wife Karen Ann Carter; his children, Lara Michele Carter, Tray Don Carter (Tracie), Lindsey Brooke White (Chance) and Michael Brandon Rushing (Lindsey); his brother Doug Carter (Beverly); and his grandchildren, Alaynna Russel (Jensen), Preston Carter, Samuel Carter, Michael B. Rushing II, Reagan Rushing, Kate Brecklein (Brendan), Troy Papachristou, Brooklyn White, Brylee-Kate White, Braylon Woodell (Katie), Lawson White and Gracie White. He is also survived by 9 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family asked that donations be sent to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Daughters of the Other Side, a faith based recovery home.
