Melba June Gatlin Obituary
Melba June Gatlin, 77, of Jonesboro, passed away on Saturday, April 1st, at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House following a battle with cancer. She graduated from Bay High School and married Johnny Gatlin on December 12, 1963. Melba was a merchandiser for American Greetings in the Parker Road Walmart for several years. Most recently, she volunteered as a Pink Lady at NEA Hospital. Her favorite pastime was spending time with her family and friends.
She attended Nettleton Baptist Church for many years. She enjoyed Bible study and playing games with her church ladies, as well as loving on her family and serving her Savior.
Survivors include; her husband of 59 years: Johnny Gatlin of the home; one son: Guy and Joelle Gatlin; and their two children: Jonathan and, Rebecca of Texas; one daughter: Michele Gatlin Johnson; and her two children: Dylan and Sarah of Jonesboro; and two brothers: Jim and Betty White and Mel White, all of Jonesboro; and a host of other family and friends.
She was preceded in death by; her parents: Melvin E. White and Juanita Puckett; and one brother: Greg Puckett.
A Celebration of Life Visitation is scheduled for Thursday, April 6, 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Hospitality House of Nettleton Baptist Church, 2750 Clinton School Rd., Jonesboro, Arkansas.
