He was predeceased by: his parents, Joel Hershel Yancey and Mryttle Robinson; his wife Dottie Yancey; and his sisters, Wilma Gordon, Hazel Ross, Freda Steingraber and Linda Joy.
He is survived by: his children, Eric Yancey (Kelsey), Bob Griffin (Cheryl) of Jonesboro, Arkansas, Jamie Ross (Scott Freeman) of Jonesboro and Kim Throgmorton; his grandchildren, Molly Throgmorton, Kellye Doyle, Meredith Lancaster, Morgan Gardner, Sarah Griffin and Kennedy Ross; and his great grandchildren, Noah Doyle, Olivia Doyle, Gabe Gardner, Ava Ross, Barrett Gardner, Marleigh Gardner and Amelia Hill.
In Lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Alzheimer's Association "3150 Lenox Park Blvd Suite 402, Memphis, TN 38115" and Humane Society of the Delta.
