He was predeceased by: his parents, Edgar Granville Stokes and Virginia Poston Stokes. He is survived by: his wife Dr. Elizabeth Stokes of Jonesboro, Arkansas.; his son Frank G. Stokes; his daughter-in-law Kelly Running Stokes; and his grandchildren, Mason Stokes (Paige) of Oklahoma, Chloe, Lucas and Wyatt of Minnesota. He is also survived by four grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to KASU at Arkansas State University, the Craighead County Public Library, the Food Bank of Northeast Arkansas or a charity of the donor's choice.
