Harmon B. Whitehurst Obituary
Harmon B. Whitehurst, 99, of Jonesboro, Arkansas passed away at Ridgecrest Health and Rehabilitation on September 7, 2024. He was born on September 27, 1924 in Searcy, Arkansas to Yarnell D. Whitehurst, Sr. (Myrtle) and Edith M. Pickens. Harmon was a member of the Nettleton Methodist Church in Jonesboro, Arkansas and was a Minister. He was a veteran of the United States Army. He enjoyed gardening, watching westerns, preaching the gospel and spending time with his family.
Survivors include; three brothers: Pete Whitehurst, Austin Whitehurst, Harvey Whitehurst; one sister: Opal Whitehurst Sharp; several grandchildren, several great grandchildren; and a host of other family and friends.
He is preceded in death by; his wife: Mildred Whitehurst; his parents: Yarnell Whitehurst and Edith Pickens; stepmother: Myrtle Richardson; four children: Bethel Spencer, Hurshel Whitehurst, Y.D. Whitehurst, Reba Peifer; four brothers: James Whitehurst, Y.D. Whitehurst, Jr., Burnell Holcombe, John Whitehurst; and two sisters: Duluth Whitehurst Holland and Willa Whitehurst Salley.
Graveside services will be held on Friday, September 13, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at Jonesboro Memorial Park with John Miles officiating under the direction of Faith Funeral Service.
