He was predeceased by: his parents, Jesse Ransom and Lona Mae Reagan James; his son Keith; his daughter-in-law Donna James; and his siblings, Avis Burrow (Dennis) and Michael James.
He is survived by: his wife Shirley Ann Burrow James; his children, Katonna Richardson (Dina Lewis) of St. Louis, MO and Kevin James (Cyndi) of Troy, MO; his sister Sandra Harrison (Bobby) of Gastonia, NC; his sister-in-law Beth James; and his grandchildren, Bobbi Gilbert (Jonathan), Brian Richardson (Jennifer), Kerry Gill (Jerod), Courtney Case (Patrick) and Kyle James. He is also survived by eight great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, and other family members.
