He was predeceased by: his parents, Sam Fields and Rose Burton Fields; his wife Mattie Maxine Callahan Fields; his children, Judith Fields Stevenson and Michael Dennis Fields; and his siblings, Sammy, Tommy, Frank, Fred, Barney, Paul Fields and Melissa "Fannie" Nubbie.
He is survived by: his daughter Donna Harper (Lance) of Jonesboro; his sister Rose Mae Fields Sawyer of Marion; his grandchildren, Michael Dennis Stevenson (Linda) of Jonesboro, David Paul Stevenson of Jonesboro, Stephanie Teague (Eric) of Benton, Gretchen Davis (Jeff) of Springfield, Isaac and Levi Davis of Springfield; and his great grandchildren, Gunter, Molly, Melanie, Josie Stevenson, Eli, Collin Wade Teague and Vivian Louise Davis.
