He was predeceased by: his parents, James Sanders and Dell Watkins Sanders; his son Randy Ashmore; his daughter-in-law Brenda Ashmore; and his sisters, Peggy, Jimmie Ann and Nancy.
He is survived by: his wife Lena Gladys McGriff Sanders of Star City; his sons, Jerry Sanders, Jr. (Rozanna) of El Cajon, CA and Tracy Sanders (Jessica) of Star City; his grandchildren, Corey Ashmore, George Sanders, Garrett Sanders, Jerry Sanders, III, Ernie Sanders, Riley Sanders, Myra Sanders and Gage Sanders; and his great grandchildren, Shawn Ashmore and Blaine Newman.
