He was predeceased by: his parents, Joe Heird and Joan Ramsey Heird. He is survived by: his daughters, Katherine Pennington (Chris) of Rison and Alexzandra "Chachi" Chandler (Josh) of Star City; his grandchildren, Bentley, Jaxson, Kinley, Jessa and Aubree; his siblings, Charlotte Johnson (Robert) of Sulpher Springs, Brenda Hawkins (Chester) of Sheridan and Bobby Heird of Florida; his nieces, Jackie Kidd of Sulpher Springs and Vanessa Hawkins of Sheridan; his nephew Bobby Heird Jr. of Mississippi; his great-nephews, Logan and Lawson; and his friend Barbara Vallun of Jefferson.
