He was predeceased by: his parents, George Brasel and Flossie Brasel (Spradley); his wife Genevieve Brasel; and his sisters, Elizabeth "Betty Jo" Riesenecker and Georgia Lee Abel.
He is survived by: his son Doug Brasel (Dana) of Jasper; his grandson Dylan Kilgore of Jasper; and his sister Eleanor Sue "Susie" of Overland Park, Kansas..
