He was predeceased by: his wife Helen Plate (Logue); his parents, William Plate and Lucy Plate (Riedesel); his siblings, Francis, Henry and Eleanor; and his grandson Bruce Isaacsen.
He is survived by: his daughters, Eleanor Isaacsen (Bruce) of Hemet, CA and Mary Engel (Richard) of Jacksonville; and his grandchildren, Karla Wheeler, Sharon Isaacsen, Eric Engel (Athena), Dustin Engel and Captain Heidi Engel.
