He was predeceased by: his parents, Onie Poteet and Audrey Sellers Poteet; his wife Christie High; his son Albert Wayne Poteet; his granddaughter Brandy Green; his daughter-in-law Tina Poteet; his brother Bobby Jones Poteet; his nephew Bobby Jr. Poteet; and his niece Sheila Garner.
He is survived by: his children, Dorothy Poteet Jones (Blake) of Imboden, Shannon Poteet, Thomas Poteet, Carl Poteet and Wendell Poteet; his grandchildren, Jesse, Jordan Poteet, Ryan Green and Amber Seamans; his children, Savanah, Kora (Aaron), Teagan, Lane, Timothy, Harley, Cooper and Kaylee; and his great great grandchildren, Zander, Presley, Easton, Eli and Emmit.
