He is survived by: his sister Helen Bomar; his wife Sonja Berry Mathews; his children, Mike Mathews (Sheila), Mark Mathews (Timisha), Chano Sosa (Gloria) and Lori Chenault (Wendell); his grandchildren, Krystal Wooten (Eric), Kandice Brumley (Brandon), Buck Mathews (Ann), Brandy Jeffrey, Carmen Coody (Chase), Bailey Chenault, Somi Schumaker, Curt Gilbert, Chad and Justin Sosa; his great grandchildren, Brooke Thackery (Brett), Kaydin, Kristen Wooten, Ethan Brumley, Taylor Jones, Dallie Mathews, Paisley Jeffrey, Clancey Mathews and Carson Sosa; his great great grandchildren, Lailee and Jaxon Thackery; and his sisters-in-law, Bessie Mathews and Sue Mathews. He is also survived by nieces, nephews and close family friends.
