He was predeceased by: his father Tracy Louis; his siblings, Robert Louis Knox and Martha Lynn Knox; and his wife Linda Ruth Sturdivant Knox. He is survived by: his sons, Christopher Glenn Knox, Alan Richard Knox, Jon Gregory Knox (Jessica) and Keith Wayne Knox; his sister Iris Colleen Meshell (David); his grandchildren, Holly, Owen, Julia, Elizabeth, Trey, Sara, Molly and Micah; his great grandchild Jack; and his aunts, Mary Olive Hodge and Fay Ciraulo. He is also survived by extended family and friends.
