It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Bettye Jean Gathright of Huttig, Arkansas, born in Marion, Louisiana, who passed away on February 11, 2021, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Thaxton Bowen and Maggie Inez Edwards Bowen; her sons, Billy Gathright and Jesse DeWayne; and her siblings, Mary Maude Bowen, Glenda Kyle, Venoy Bowen and Roy Wayne Bowen.
She is survived by: her former husband Jay Dee Gathright; her children, Stanley Gathright (Liz), Sarah Gathright (Juan) and Deborah Lum; and her grandchild Twenty. She is also survived by Twenty-four great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations for funeral expenses be made to Perry's Funeral Chapels.
