He was predeceased by: his brothers-in-law, Dorsie Merrell, Jr., Richard Merrell and Roy Willows; and his nephew David Merrell. He is survived by: his wife Sharon Smith; his daughters, Deborah Hatfield (Curtis) of Shawnee, Kansas and Leslie Smith (Heather) of Little Elm, Texas; his stepdaughter Nichelle Anderson (Eric) of Hindsville; his grandchildren-in-law, Jill, Norman Gordon of Overland Park, Kansas, Amy, Logan Lindahl of Manhattan, Kansas, Bobby Smith of Little Elm, Texas, Will of Hindsville, Andi Anderson of Hindsville, Collin Anderson of Hindsville and Holly Anderson of Hindsville; his grandchild Jaden Kinney; his great grandchild Dean Gordon of Overland Park, Kansas; and his brothers-in-law, Jay Willows of Paoli and James Williams of LaBelle.
