He was predeceased by: his parents, R. B. Fonville and Louetta Fonville; and his siblings, Brantley, Herschel, Marcus, Jesse, James, Mildred McDaniel, Helen Cline and Inez Maher.
He is survived by: his wife Leta Fonville; his sister Juanita Parker of Nashville, Tennessee; and his children, Aleta Tittle (Larry) of Mt. Pleasant, Texas, Alton Wayne, Jr. (Beth) of West Chester, Ohio, Jerry Lee (Terri) of Hurst, Texas, Ronald Dale (Carolyn) of Little Rock, Arkansas, Mark Douglas (Kim) of Sherwood, Arkansas and Earl Russell (Karen) of Colleyville, Texas. He is also survived by 18 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorial donations in Alton's name be made to Circle of Life Hospice, 901 Jones Road, Springdale, Arkansas 72762.
