He was predeceased by: his parents, Elmer Hurst and Annie Hurst; his former wife Charlotte Hurst (Grisham); his wife Gayle Hurst (Sanders); his brother Wilson Hurst; his siblings-in-law, Jimmie Hurst, Don Grisham and Iris Grisham; his son-in-law Don Temple; his grandchildren, Don Allen Temple and Cameron Lynette Hurst; and his nephew Jerry Hurst.
He is survived by: his brother-in-law Dan Grisham (Retta); his children, Becky Sebren (Raymond), Suzi Ellis (Tony), Dana McGee (Jeff), Angie Davis (Jerry) and Allen Hurst (Lori); and his stepchildren, Tammy Moss and Hank Sanders (Amy). He is also survived by thirteen grandchildren, twenty-two great-grandchildren, two great-great-granddaughters, and numerous nieces and nephews.
